Rose Health Center Buniadu
Rose Health Center, formerly known as Buniadu Health Center, was established around the year 2000 by the Buniadu community to address prevalent health issues in the region. Situated approximately 6 kilometers from Essau Health Center and 7 kilometers from Kuntaya Health Center, Rose Health Center plays a vital role in providing accessible healthcare.
70 patients per day
On average, the clinic attends to about 70 patients daily, totaling around 1,500 patients per month, excluding weekends during the dry season. During the rainy season, patient numbers increase to over 100 per day, reaching approximately 2,000 patients. Critical cases are promptly managed, and referrals are made to Essau Health Center or Banjul's main hospital.
Common childhood illnesses treated at the clinic include diarrhea, malnutrition, anemia, pneumonia, asthma, burns, skin and ear infections, abdominal pain, and animal bites. Adults commonly present with diabetes, hypertension, anemia, dehydration, abdominal pain, fatigue-induced body pain, toothaches, urinary tract infections, and road traffic accidents.
Rose Health Center is staffed by seven individuals, including one registered nurse overseeing operations, four auxiliary nurses, a cleaner, and a watchman.

The nursery school
In addition to the health center, the community recognized the need for a nursery school to cater to children below the age of 7 who faced challenges accessing education. Currently, the nursery school has around 80 students, with three classrooms, a small office, and three teachers supported by a cleaner and a watchman. The nursery school operates under the management of the health center.
FUNDING OF THE FACILITY
Funding for both the health center and nursery school primarily relies on donations. Previously sponsored by Project Aid until January 2023, the facility faced uncertainty when Project Aid withdrew support. Fortunately, Jose Eulogio Del Soto, a Spanish friend, stepped in to assist. However, due to financial constraints in his country, he plans to discontinue his support by January 2024.

Jose Eulogio Del Soto's contributions include building a shelter for the nursery school children, providing cupboards, planting trees, introducing electricity to the health center, and constructing a path to prevent flooding during the rainy season.

The community, staff, students, and parents are now seeking help to sustain these critical services. A minimum of 1000 euros per month is required to maintain operations. While there were initial aspirations for a basic laboratory and additional trained staff, the immediate concern is securing support to ensure the facility's continuity.

Any form of assistance is appreciated, and contributions can be directed to Salieu Tinn, the manager, at +220 3977665.

Your support will help save lives and nurture children in our community and beyond.

Sincerely,

Salieu Tinn
